Ben Pomeroy Centre Career Achievements: City Origin Representative Prime Ministers XIII 2007 Australian Schoolboys 2001

Born at the foot of the mountains in Penrith, Cronulla Sharks centre Ben Pomeroy has enjoyed a fruitful rugby league career thus far. Ben began as a local Penrith junior playing for Blacktown City and was selected in the Australian Schoolboys side in 2001.

After showing great promise in Penrith’s lower grades, Ben debuted in the top grade at the age of 20 against the Bulldogs in Round 21 of the 2004 season. He went on secure regular first grade football in 2005, exhibiting powerful ball running skills which sparked many teams to chase his signature for the following season.

Cronulla beat many other clubs to secure Ben’s services in 2006 and he has not disappointed. While with the Sharks, Pomeroy has gone on to represent City Origin from 2007-2009 as well as the Prime Minister’s XIII in 2007.

A strong defender who is also very hard to stop close to the line, Ben Pomeroy is set to continue giving opposition defences nightmares for many more years.
