Biography:
Born at the foot of the mountains in Penrith, Cronulla Sharks Centre Ben Pomeroy is quickly climbing the ranks in establishing a fruitful rugby league career.

Ben began as a local Penrith junior playing for Blacktown City and Cambridge Park and with his immense skill and power, was selected in the Australian Schoolboys side in 2001.

After showing great promise in Penrith’s lower grades, Ben debuted in the top flight at the age of 20 against the Bulldogs in Round Four of the 2004 season. He played in ten NRL games for the Panthers, before the Cronulla Sharks jumped at the chance to sign the much sought after centre for 2006 and beyond.

Recovering from injury at the beginning of the 2006 season, Ben returned to the field for the final eight games for the Sharks and although showing great individual form, was unable to impact Cronulla’s disappointing season end.

Pomeroy enjoyed his first injury free season in some time in 2007 and also picked up his first top-grade representative cap with selection for the City team in the City v Country Origin clash. His ongoing good form saw him receive selection in the 08 and 09 City v Country fixtures.

Ben is a strongly built player with an ability to hold a defender and set up opportunities for his outside men. He has proved to be a real handful for opposing teams and his size and strength can cause major headaches for his opponents.
