Biography:
Michael Dobson is a fantastic talent and is one of the best halfbacks in the game. Starting out his rugby league career with his local club, the Junee Diesels, he made a name for himself and attracted both local and international interest.
As a teenager, Michael played in Europe for the French Les Catalans Dragons, where he gained experience and improved on his strengths, being his attacking and goal kicking abilities.
In 2007 Michael made his NRL club debut for the Canberra Raiders against the Sea Eagles in round one at Brookvale Oval. His impressive talent saw Dobson become a vital member of the Raiders line up and was consistently one of the best on field throughout the season.
During his time with the Raiders, Michael had his own section called “Dobbo’s Diary – Golden Points” on their website, where he gave team updates, previews and match reviews on behalf of his team. Some of these articles were even published in the Wagga Wagga Daily Advertiser.
At the end of 2007, Michael had several offers from European clubs and in 2008 he made the decision to move to UK Super League Club, Hull Kingston Rovers. He made some great touches in his debut match and marked the occasion in style by scoring two tries.
